Gran Fondo, Retail & More
I was a volunteer/sponsor of a water stop at the Gran Fondo Cycles, Gran Fondo (Italian for Big Ride) event yesterday. It was a beautiful day and there was over 170 cyclists competing in 35 mile, 65 mile and 100 mile races. It was my first time ever attending a road race of any kind. The course itself was beautiful, way out in the country and hills of Tennessee. You can check out some photos I took of the course and our stop here.
After the race was I over I stopped off at my favorite (no offense anybody!) local bike shop, Halcyon. They were kind enough to pick up our first shirt Prescription to carry. So, if you are in Nashville there’s 1 of each size in stock now. Halcyon is a great group of people who really helped me out when I was re-building my Schwinn Cruiser 6. They do some great stuff in the community with their Bike Workshop program at the Oasis Center. Go buy a bike or some accessories and if you like, a Ride Above t-shirt! I also dropped off some freebie stickers and button packs. Halcyon is located at 1118 Halcyon Avenue Nashville, TN 37204 and open Tues-Sat from 11-7 and Sun from 12-5. Finally, we have a new t-shirt design on the way. We’ll be making an announcement about that very soon. Its called “Full House” and we think it’s pretty awesome.

This is our first t-shirt design. It’s called Prescription. There’s a lot of books, movies and speakers who all peddle a lot of advice about how to be happy or live better. And while a lot of those are helpful, at Ride Above we like to keep things simple. We promise if you do these 3 things your life will be better:
